Submit Your Research Story

Indian Research Matters (IRM)

Indian Research Matters (IRM) is not a scientific journal.

We do not publish peer-reviewed research papers. Instead, we highlight important research in an accessible, public-facing format that allows scientists to communicate their work to a wider audience beyond academia.

Our platform publishes research highlights, science stories, interviews, and commentary that explain scientific discoveries and their real-world significance.

We aim to bridge the gap between research laboratories and society, helping readers understand how new discoveries influence technology, policy, health, environment, and innovation.

Why Publish Your Research Highlight with IRM?

Publishing a research highlight on Indian Research Matters offers several benefits for researchers and authors:

Professional Visibility

Your research story will be published on a dedicated page on the IRM website with a permanent link that can be shared with collaborators, institutions, and media.

Academic Recognition

Authors receive an official certificate of publication from Indian Research Matters, which can be included in your CV, portfolio, or academic profile.

Public Science Communication

IRM helps researchers translate complex scientific work into clear, engaging narratives for a broader audience, including students, policymakers, and the public.

Permanent Online Archive

Published stories remain permanently archived on the IRM website, increasing the long-term visibility of your research.

Monthly Research Book Compilation

Selected research highlights published on IRM may be included in a monthly digital book compilation of research stories, expanding the reach of your work.

What Kind of Articles We Publish?

We welcome submissions from:

  • Researchers and scientists
  • PhD students and postdoctoral fellows

  • Science policy and innovation
  • Climate, health, and technology

Articles should focus on explaining the significance of research, not simply summarizing the technical paper.

  • Typical length:      800–1500 words
  • Clear, engaging language suitable for a general audience
  • Minimal use of technical jargon
  • Structured with subheadings for readability
  • Include images, graphs, or illustrations where possible

Authors are encouraged to highlight:

  • The main scientific question
  • Key discoveries or results
  • Why the research matters for society
